The Waters of March*

When I die please remember me this way.  That I tried to work well, so I can loaf around better.   And I never wanted whiter skin.

The sun and I?  We cool.

Today felt like summer.

Take me.

PS: Just in case this blog post outlives me:  I have an organ donor card, use it.  (except my right ear, everything’s still okay) –  half a day viewing/wake, then cremate, and seal urn in our family’s parish columbary, play good music please, serve good red wine, cheese and bread.   Get list from Leslie who should deliver eulogies for me.  No flowers, if ever just white ones please.  Instead of buying a mass card, donate a book or two to the nearest public school in my Mom’s name – because she taught me how to read.   There.    Just in case.     🙂

*And here it is the original score in Jobim’s handwriting, published in the Disco the Bolso (Pocket Record), a bonus record included in the weekly magazine O Pasquim, printed in Rio de Janeiro, on May, 1972.  “Waters of March”
