the curse of kin

The thing about being a candidate’s relative is that often- by default your defense is not valid. Let their track record, political work history, colleagues, third party associates defend them instead. Syempre pinsan, nanay, tatay, tiyuhin, tiyahin, ninang, ninong, kapatid, anak, asawa mo yun eh. Sorry relative – that’s the ballgame. Sit back, take it in, talk about it in your family reunions – arrange for other parties to defend your candidate-relative in your stead.

Let’s face it – a defense is rather lame when it comes from kin.

Sorry, that’s how it works.  Tough.
